01 · CREATE

Make a Minecraft server

  1. Sign in to your SPUDZWARE account.
  2. Choose Create Server or Free Hosting.
  3. Select the loader you want, such as Vanilla, Paper, Fabric, Forge or NeoForge.
  4. Choose the Minecraft version.
  5. Pick a server name/subdomain and an eligible server plan.
  6. Finish creation, then open My Servers.
The selected loader and Minecraft version control which mods/plugins SPUDZWARE will show as compatible.
02 · POWER

Start, stop or restart a server

  1. Open My Servers and select the server.
  2. Open the Server tab.
  3. Press Start Server. SPUDZWARE prepares the world, Java runtime and protected route automatically.
  4. Use Stop when needed. SPUDZWARE asks Minecraft to save before shutdown.
  5. Use Restart after settings that say a restart is required.
Do not close a maintenance/rebuild in the middle of a save. SPUDZWARE's ServerPC shutdown protection gives Minecraft time to flush the world safely.
03 · ACCOUNT PLANS

Manage your account plan

  1. Open Account Plans to view available paid tiers.
  2. Choose a plan and complete Stripe checkout.
  3. Your paid entitlement belongs to your SPUDZWARE account, not one specific server.
  4. Open Billing Center to check the current plan, billing status, expiry and recent billing activity.
Each successful paid-plan payment grants 30 days. Ultimate is subscription-only and cannot be unlocked with reward points.
04 · APPLY A PLAN

Apply an account plan to a server

  1. Make sure the paid account plan is active.
  2. Open My Servers.
  3. Choose the server you want to upgrade.
  4. Press Upgrade Plan / the plan application control shown for that server.
  5. Select an eligible plan from your account entitlement.
  6. If SPUDZWARE says a restart is required, restart the server so the new memory/runtime limits fully apply.
Applying a plan does not replace the world. Your server keeps its normal files and data.
05 · WORLDS

Upload or download a world

  1. Stop the server before replacing the hosted world.
  2. Open Worlds.
  3. Choose a ZIP containing a valid Minecraft level.dat.
  4. Wait for Uploading → Verifying → Safety backup → Installing.
  5. After installation completes, start the server.
  6. Use Download world ZIP whenever you need a copy of the hosted world.
SPUDZWARE validates the completed upload before replacing the current world and keeps rollback protection during installation.
06 · MODS & PLUGINS

Add mods, plugins or modpacks

  1. Open the server's Mods or Plugins tab.
  2. Use the built-in compatible project search when available.
  3. You can also drag and drop supported files.
  4. SPUDZWARE verifies known projects through CurseForge/Modrinth before accepting verified drag-and-drop content.
  5. Restart the server after installing content that loads at startup.
Always match the mod/plugin to the server's loader and Minecraft version.
07 · OPTIONS

Change server.properties

Open Options to change player slots, MOTD, gamemode, difficulty, view/simulation distance, spawn protection, idle timeout, PvP, flight, whitelist, cracked/offline mode, hardcore, command blocks, forced gamemode, Nether and mob/NPC spawning.

The Resource Pack section can also save resource-pack, resource-pack-sha1, resource-pack-prompt and require-resource-pack.

Some settings can apply live. Others show Restart required. SPUDZWARE keeps infrastructure-owned properties such as the assigned port protected.
08 · RESOURCE PACKS

Set a server resource pack

  1. Host the resource-pack ZIP at a direct HTTP/HTTPS download URL.
  2. Open Options → Resource Pack and paste the URL.
  3. Optionally add the pack's 40-character SHA-1 hash.
  4. Add a player prompt if you want one.
  5. Turn on Require resource pack if joining players must accept it.
  6. Save and restart if SPUDZWARE reports that a restart is required.
09 · BACKUPS

Protect your server data

  1. Open the server's Backups tab.
  2. Create/download a backup before major mod, world or configuration changes.
  3. For automatic Google Drive backups, link Google Drive from Account.
  4. Enable the backup schedule for the server you want protected.
Stopping a server already performs a save. Backups add another recovery copy for larger changes or accidents.
RAM · PROTECTION

If a server reaches its RAM limit

SPUDZWARE treats your plan RAM as the total Minecraft process budget, not only Java's heap. Java keeps protected native headroom for threads, loaders, networking and other off-heap memory. The heap now starts smaller and grows only when needed.

  1. Lower View Distance to around 8-10 chunks.
  2. Lower Simulation Distance to around 6-8 chunks.
  3. Reduce unnecessary player slots, chunk loaders, very large farms and excessive entities.
  4. Update or remove unusually heavy mods/plugins. For compatible modpacks, a memory-focused mod such as FerriteCore may help.
  5. If exploration is the trigger, pre-generate chunks when possible instead of generating huge areas while players are online.
  6. If the server still repeatedly reaches its limit after optimization, use a higher-RAM plan.
If memory remains above the plan limit for several checks, SPUDZWARE automatically saves the world and stops Minecraft instead of allowing the game node to thrash or crash.
10 · NETWORK

Join your server

  • Java: use the SPUDZWARE hostname shown in the Network tab.
  • QuestCraft: use the Java gateway/address shown by SPUDZWARE.
  • Bedrock/Geyser: use the Bedrock hostname and exact UDP port shown when crossplay is detected and ready.
If the server says Starting, wait until the Network/Server status reports that Minecraft is ready to accept players.
11 · ACCOUNT

Account, slots and rewards

  • Account: manage display name, linked services, plan status and sign-out.
  • Server slots: deleting a server frees its active slot; deleted-server recovery uses the Trash rules shown in Account.
  • Rewards: reward points can be used for eligible Reward Server time. They do not unlock Ultimate.
  • Notifications: check for expiry, maintenance and other SPUDZWARE notices.
12 · TROUBLESHOOTING

If something is not working

  1. Refresh the server panel and check its current Server status.
  2. Open Logs for Minecraft/runtime errors.
  3. Check Network if Minecraft is running but the join address is not ready yet.
  4. After changing startup-only properties, restart the server.
  5. For world upload errors, keep the server stopped and retry the ZIP; SPUDZWARE verifies the upload before replacement.
  6. If the problem continues, open Support or join the official Discord.
GOOD TO KNOW

Settings SPUDZWARE manages automatically

SPUDZWARE automatically selects a compatible Java runtime for the server's Minecraft version and protects infrastructure-owned values such as the assigned server IP/port and tracked world folder. These are intentionally not exposed as normal server.properties controls because changing them can break server startup or routing.

Performance, render distance & modpacks

SPUDZWARE limits chunk distance by plan so one Minecraft server cannot overwhelm the game node. Free and Reward servers can use up to 10 view chunks; Starter up to 12; Performance up to 16; Ultimate up to 20. Simulation distance is capped separately because ticking chunks are much more CPU intensive.

When a verified Forge/Fabric modpack is installed, SPUDZWARE reads the pack metadata, uses its exact compatible loader build when provided, keeps server-side pack files, applies the server's RAM limit, and uses a conservative Java GC profile to reduce long pauses. This improves compatibility and chunk-loading stability, but especially heavy packs can still need more RAM or lower distance settings.
